THE MELEGRAN HOTEL - WHERE TO STAY IN ROVINJ | ROVINJ, CROATIA TRAVEL GUIDE

The Melegran is a lovely boutique hotel with a mix of modern, contemporary & Art deco style, located in old town Rovinj. The Melegran is super stylish and very instagrammable. The Melegran looks exactly like the photos which is great because sometimes you turn up somewhere and the hotel looks nothing like it does the photos.

THE ROOM

I couldn't fault anything about our room and it's very rare that I stay in a hotel love everything. We stayed in the 'snug room' which was on the ground floor and it was quite snug as the name suggests but I knew that when I booked it but to be fair we still had enough room to move around.

I loved the decor, it was very stylish and tastefully done, modern with retro touches like the speaker and typewriter. The room was well equipped with everything we needed from a espresso machine , Marshall Stockwell Bluetooth speaker, smart TV with Netflix! What more could you ask for?!
I loved the attention to detail and how everything was customised with the hotel logo from the little complimentary chocolate to the umbrellas (which came in handy on the first day as it was raining). I've only seen that done by big hotel chains so it was a nice touch.  In the rooms we were provided with a beach bag, towels and straw hats which would have been perfect for a beach day but unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough.
One of the best things about the room was the bed which was absolutely amazing! I had the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel. It was honestly the most comfortable bed ever and I had to force myself to get out of it every morning.

The shower was also amazing so I spent way too much  the hotel provided Cowshed bath and body products which were quite good so I didn't even need to use my own toiletries. The Melegran also give guests the option to buy the products if you love them that much.

The customer service at the Melegran was excellent. Dragana who checked us in was very helpful with suggestions, directions and answered any questions we had. We had a complimentary golf cart shuttle service to the taxi pick-up point. When we arrived we didn't know that they provided this so we'd walked from our drop off point through cobblestone paths dragging our big suitcases. The hotel can also help plan a winery day trip and other experiences, just be sure to enquire and book in advance.

Our stay included breakfast but because the Melegran is a small hotel they don't have a restaurant on-site. The Melegran collaborated with another hotel nearby called Hotel Adriatic to provide a set menu breakfast so you get a voucher to take with you. Hotel Adriatic is down the street on the main square and takes about 2-3 minutes to walk down. Breakfast time was 7am to 12 noon which was perfect for me because I'm not a morning person and it takes me forever to get up and get ready. We expected just a basic continental breakfast but the menu had a lot of options and the food was great. The only downside was the customer service by Hotel Adriatic staff which was very poor! This no way reflects on the Melegran because it was not their staff. On the 3 days we ate at Hotel Adriatic, we experienced poor and rude service with the exception of 1 or 2 servers that were friendly.

Overall, I highly recommend The Melegran. Everything was great, from the location, amenities, customer service and I enjoyed my stay so it gets 5 stars from me! I will definitely stay again in the future.

What do you think of The Melegran hotel?
