Whew, what a year 2020 has been so far!  This is not the 2020 I envisioned when I was busy setting my intentions for the year, making travel plans and whatever else.
This whole Coronavirus  pandemic is crazy! I don't know how many times I've said that in a conversation but I'm just so shocked that it's happening and affecting the whole world.

One of my big plans for the year was to travel a lot but obviously that's on hold but that is mine compared to people who are getting sick or have lost loved ones. I still have to work during the lock down so I have been doing my best to keep my anxiety low and keep my spirits up.  I am a huge worrier sometimes so I am trying to not think too much about it and limiting how much of the bad news I am consuming on all platforms.

Some of the things that have been helping me get through this are:

1) Staying in touch with family via phone/facetime as I live on my own.

2) Spending hours on the Houseparty app talking to friends, playing games and just having a good ol' time. It's as close to spending time with my friends as I can get at the moment.

3) Instagram Live - from DJs, musicians battling it out, celebs, comedians etc. It's been fun seeing people doing what they can to provide some sort of relief content during this time.

4) Netflix - I've been rewatching Queen of the south which is one of the best shows ever, in my opinion.

5) Reading - I've just finished reading Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi which was such a good read....sad but beautiful and made me cry a few times. I am currently reading The Thing Around Your Neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and on my TBR list I have: Becoming by Michelle Obama, An American Marriage by Tayari Jones and Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams. I'm playing with the idea of reading 30 books before my 30th...we shall see how that goes cos that's a lot of reading to do before August lol.

What are you doing to keep yourselves sane and stay positive?

I hope you're all well, staying positive and keeping safe. Sending love to anyone affected by the coronavirus or just going through anything in general. Take time to appreciate the little things, moments with loved ones and anything else that we may normally take for granted.

Please everyone do your bit to stop coronavirus spreading. If we just band together and get through the lock down, the quicker we'll be able to go out and do whatever it is we want to.

Much love!

Sam ♥
