' HUGO COCKTAIL | BLOGMAS DAY 11 '

TGIF!!! And what better way to start the weekend off than with cocktails whether you going out for the 2 for 1 offers or having a girly night in! If you're staying in I've got the perfect cocktail recipe for you! The 'Hugo' is one of my favourite cocktails ever! I fell in love with it when I went on holiday to Majorca a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure I literally had it everyday that whole week! It tastes really good, trust me!

It's typically a summer drink but I don't really feel like there are 'rules' to when you should have a cocktail. If you like something, have it whenever you want...in moderation obviously lol.

Anyhoo, I made it or my friends the other weekend and I thought why not share it with y'all..my extended friends lol. You don't need too many ingredients and it's really easy to make!

Recipe type: Aperitif | Prep time: 5 minutes | Total time: 5 minutes | Serves 2

Here's what you need:
100ml Prosecco, Champagne or Brut
150 ml (5 fluid ounces) mineral water, bubbly
Elder flower syrup
Organic mint leaves
2 organic lime, juiced
1 organic lime, sliced
Ice cubes

Instructions
Crush/ muddle 4 mint leaves and add to a champagne or bigger wine glass.
Add a small amount of elder flower syrup, about 1-2 teaspoon (5 -10ml). Be careful not to add too much, otherwise you will end up with an overly sweet aperitif.
Add the lime juice, champagne and mineral water. Stir well a cocktail spoon.
Add more mint leaves and lime slices.
Serve with a straw.

Notes
I couldn't find the elderflower syrup in any local supermarkets so I had to order it online so just look it up on Google and you'll be able to find where you can get it.
To adjust the sweetness of your cocktail just add or reduce the elder flower syrup.
